Before you make your drink, have you ever wondered how the Key West rum runner came to exist?  The Holiday Inn, which is now the Postcard Inn (in Islamorada, Florida) had overabundance of rum and in stock. The barkeeps made an exceptionally scrumptious creation with this overabundance and There it is!  The Rum Runner was conceived! They named the beverage after the genuine “Rum Runners” that occupied the Florida Keys back in the pirating days.
