Best Things In Life Are Free – Free Key West Things To Do
Free Key West Things To Do
Everyone thinks a vacation in glorious Key West has to break the bank. Sure, it can cost a ton if you want it to. But if all your cash is going toward airfare and lodging, keep the faith: a frugal fiesta can be as much fun as one spent by the rich and famous.
Key West for FREE: The Top 6
1. Mallory Square Sunset Celebration
Every night about 2 hours before sunset, sun-kissed vacationers and townies gather at Mallory
Square Dock for a nightly arts festival. You can stroll along the dock and exhibit arts and crafts, street performers, psychics, and people watching. Then, watch the breathtaking sun descend over the Gulf of Mexico. Priceless.
2. Smather’s BeachWe all come to Key West for the sun and sand, right? Well, the beach is where it’s at. Grab your sunscreen, a hat, and towel, and head on over to Smather’s Beach. It’s a small beach, but there is always a good time to be had – from volley ball games and Frisbee, to just digging your toes in the sand and gazing out at the bright blue horizon. 3. Rollerblade along the AtlanticPack up your skates! Key West is a roller-blader’s paradise. The amazing oceanfront views are the perfect setting for jamming some tunes in your earphones and getting your skate on. And if you don’t have skates, you can rent some for super cheap at many of the bike rental locations. 4. Read a BookKey West was home to one of the greatest writers of all-time, Ernest Hemingway. The island has a literary history and a great public library, so why not check out a book he wrote right here in Key West? It’s a perfect way to laze away an afternoon, and rest up for a night of partying. 5. Chill at the PoolYou paid for the room, so why not take advantage of your hotel digs and chill at the pool? Work on your tan, listen to some tunes in your ear buds, or catch up on your book (see number 4!). It’s the perfect way to spend a hot, sunny day on this glorious, magical little island. 6. Stroll Duval StreetDuval Street is the main drag in town, and stretches from the Gulf of Mexico to the Atlantic Ocean. There are plenty of bars, pubs, eateries, and shops, but also lots of pretty bungaloes, mansions, and architecture to view.
